Ervia today publishes its Annual Report for 2014, the first full year of operations for the multi-utility company responsible for Gas Networks Ireland and Irish Water. 2014 was a transformational year for Ervia involving significant restructuring and the establishment of a new group structure.
Ervia has confirmed today that it will accept a proposal in relation to pay from the Labour Relations Commission following its engagement in dispute resolution procedures with its Group of Unions in recent months. The Group of Unions will now be balloting this proposal with their members.

Ervia delivers its services through two operating companies, Gas Networks Ireland and Irish Water. In 2015, Ervia continued to enhance and expand the national gas network and began to address the massive underinvestment in Ireland’s water and waste water infrastructure over recent decades. Ervia is one of Ireland’s largest indigenous companies with 1,500 employees in 2015 and a further 5,700 employed in partner companies directly involved in providing services to its 2.4m customers. In 2015 Ervia contributed €1.8bn to the Irish economy, €1.3bn of which was to Irish suppliers.
As a statutory body, Ervia does not have a memorandum or articles of association. Instead, its objects, powers and duties or ‘functions’ and the provisions that regulate carrying out these functions are set out in the Gas Acts 1976 to 2009 and associated legislation. While day to day responsibility for management, operations and financial control is delegated on a defined basis, to the Group Chief Executive Officer and his or her Management Team, the Board is ultimately accountable for the strategic direction and performance of Ervia.
